World Cancer Day Awareness program

Venue: Matha Garments & Attire’s, Palarivattom

As part of World Cancer Day observance, the CDH Wing of IDA Kochi Branch conducted an oral cancer awareness programme for migrant labourers today.

The programme was attended by: Dr Meera Gopalakrishnan (President), Dr Siby T Chennankara, Dr Ajit P, Dr Alto Franc, Dr Brijitha Manoj, Dr Sheethal Sheriff, Dr Nisha Jacob, Dr Resmi PG, Dr Zeritta Stanley.

The awareness session lead by Dr Alto Franc, MDS, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. 

A talk on oral cancer, its risk factors, early signs, and prevention was delivered, followed by oral screening for the participants. 

An oral cancer awareness message was also delivered by President Dr Meera.

Approximately 50 migrant labourers from different states of India attended the programme. The activity aimed to create awareness on oral cancer, promote early detection, and encourage timely treatment.

The programme was well received and successfully met its objective of reaching a vulnerable population with essential oral cancer awareness
