A proud day for every dentist who believes in himself and Indian Dentists Association . People become really quite remarkable when they start thinking that they can do things. When they believe in themselves and in our kochi Ida association. Forget mistakes. Forget failure. Forget everything except what you're going to do now and do it. March 6th Sunday is your lucky day. As a part of the dentist day celebration Indian Dental association kochi branch in association with lions club of cochin east joins with Indian epilepsy association in Conducting a dental awareness and screening program for epileptic patients on Sunday 2011 March 6th at Lions community hall, Gandhi Nagar at 9am.

Last family get together we celebrated at renaissance hotel has been greatly appreciated in our dental fraternity, the marvelous attendance we had has been specially highlighted to understand that ida kochi branch under the leadership Dr.Noorudeen has been doing great

Great works are performed not by strength but by perseverance……Dr Jaykumar has been so meticulous with his duties, he’s been a pillar of support and ideas, ITS ALWAYS MEMBERS, WHO ALWAYS MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO OUR ASSOCIATION …not just leaders.

First and foremost, we need to be inspired in thought. Only then will we be motivated to take action. Here are some inspirations ...fabulous response for our monthly meeting create a great fellowship atmosphere giving IDA KOCHI the charm and feel of togetherness.

Dr Noorudeen our president called the meeting to order, in our general body meeting Dr.Vinod Mathew was selected as the best promising young dentist unanimously for his services towards the dental association, president ensures the general body about quality oriented CDE PROGRAMS and asked the members to take full advantage of the privileges given to the members.

Dr Paul V Joseph was the speaker for the day. He talked about various conditions dealing with practical aspects of various types of most common problems like diabetes, Anti coagulated pts, Post cardiac surgery, Cirrhosis renal failure etc.

He gave lecture on How to deal with these patients, How to make decision, When to refer a case for medical opinion and How to manage a case during emergencies at our clinic. The question-answer session was very much interactive with president offering to conduct a larger program including the same topics.

A great branch always remain great because of its members and the participation, one of our member Dr.Balu Soman says 'a great branch with great senior leaders and great potential should have a more progressive vision where our limit is beyond sky ..we should always think high'. A senior member Dr.Vijay Shankar was full of praises, he was cherishing the memories of 1968, he remembered Dr.Narayanan with great respect. Happiness is not achieved by the conscious pursuit of happiness; it is generally the by-product of other activities. BE A IDA KOCHI member .. be A PART OF ITS ACTIVITIES .. BE HAPPY ENJOY IDA KOCHI.

This monthly meeting the topic on board will be, Medically Compromised Patients- New Challenges in clinical practice.

In this era of increased life expectancy medically compromised patients are on the rise. esp; with more medical and surgical techniques.

Medico-legal issues are also increasing. How do we deal with these these patients, and many times we are depending too much on our medical colleagues to get "Fitness or Clearance" It is high time that we should make decision when to refer a case for medical opinion and how to manage a case during emergencies at our clinic.

Indian Dental Association Kochi branch the oldest branch in Kerala has done many creditable social services in and around Kochi for the past 35 yrs of its existence.

One of the major projects among its service is the FREE DENTAL CLINIC.

Under the able leader ship of Dr Noorudeen A.M the President of IDA Kochi & the Secretary Dr Arun Babu, adopted SHILPA school Palluruthy, a school for mentally challenged children by donating reverse osmosis water purifier at the very beginning of their respective office on 14 th November 2010, which was handed over by our Worshipful Mayor Shri Tony Chamminy.

Now as the new year is unfolding, on 6th February 2011 IDA Kochi is ready with yet another service project for the under privilege with distribution of 50 FREE DENTURE to the needy Kochinates within the span of one year from now. This is a part of our FREE DENTAL CLINIC which started 21 years back under the Presidentship of Dr Louis Thoppil and Dr Ajikumar as Secretary in 1989 – 90 in association with Kochi corporation, which is currently running in chalikavattom. This project will be inaugurated by Hon Minister for Revenue Shri K.P Rajendran at 6.30pm Renaissance Hotel Palarivattom.

IDA Kochi will be installing an upgraded Dental Chair in the Free Dental Clinic for improving the facilities of the clinic there by improving the quality of dental treatment
